Imagine a scene from any Tarantino movie. A forgotten or semi-unknown band is playing in the corner of a dark restaurant. Then someone pulls out the sword or starts shooting gangsters. You know, like what happened during The 5.6.7.8’s set in Kill Bill pt 1.

When we heard the first songs of White Shoes & The Couples Company, there was only one thing in our minds. They should be playing in Tarantino’s next film. Hey Quentin, are you there?

(edit: After writing this introduction, I checked White Shoes & The Couples Company’s Wikipedia page. It says: ”Their music is influenced by Indonesian movie soundtracks from the 1970s, 1930’s jazz and 60’s pop music”. WE KNEW, WE KNEW!!!)

Maailma kylässä festival is always presenting all kinds of interesting/weird bands from African tribe music to Finnish pop stars and anything in between. Next time the festival will be organized in Kaisaniemi park in the end of May 2014.
